Opinion Prompt 6. We should have a king instead of a president.

I strongly disagree with this statement. If we didn't have a king we simply wouldn't have liberty. The way that our government works now, in my opinion, is perfect. If we had a king then he would be able to make any law he wants. And you can argue for a constitutional Monarchy but we saw how that worked in early Europe and we saw that it rarely works. Even with a parliament and a king the king can still find a way to side step parliament and get what he wants. With the president now his power is "checked' with our system of checks and balances. This has proved to work very well and still to this day works. Also if we had a king we would lose our democracy. After all we wouldn't be the greatest nation in the world without democracy and if we had a king we wouldn't have a democracy so what would we be? Just an average country! With a king we would be useless and with a president we are everything!
