Dead Soldiers from the Battle of Gettysburg
To me this picture is worth a thousand words. The picture shows dead body's after the Battle of Gettysburg. This was a very important battle in US history and was one of the bloodiest battles in one of the bloodiest wars. The picture shows dead bodies in lines just lying on the ground. This speaks many words to me. It really shows the tolls war can take on people. It also helps in showing just how deadly the Civil War was. When I learned about the Civil War in 8th grade we learned that it was very deadly, actually the deadliest war fought on American soil and that lots of people died but I never really comprehended how deadly it was. This picture really helps me understand how extremely deadly this war was and how basically they had no regard for human life in this war. As you can see the bodies are just lying on the ground in rows. Who knows if they will be buried of just kept there because they don't feel like burying them. This picture really speaks to me, it helps me understand the Civil War better than before and I feel like I have a higher respect for the people that fought in it.
