Communism: In 1848 Karl Marx and
Friedrich Engels co wrote the book, The Communist Manifesto. This book
lead to the upstart of Communism around the world and helped to create a
political system that is still around today. The main part of Communism is to
obtain a classless society where everybody is equal. In a Communist society
there is common ownership and means of production, meaning that everything is
shared. In theory I think that Communism is a fantastic idea. I feel like if
all things work than it has the potential to be the beast political and social
system to date. But there is a large problem with Communism. It never works. In
reality Communism is a great idea but what Marx and Engels didn't understand is
that people are greedy. It is impossible for humans to have a classless society
where everything is shared because we are not wired that way. As humans we have
the desire to hoard things and keep them for ourselves. In theory you should
have a classless society but in reality you end up with an absolute ruler and
usually horrible living conditions. So I would have to say that I do agree with
Communism in theory but in reality it is a horrible non functioning idea.

On Monday, April 30 my life was changed forever. When I woke
up on that fateful day it seemed just like any other day. I woke up as usual to
the birds chirping and slowly dragged myself downstairs and into the kitchen to
make breakfast. Then when making the coffee I noticed something strange in the
living room, a pinball machine. I figured that Dave must have purchased it the
night before and brought it home. I slowly approached the machine and inspected
it. The machine was a pinball machine and the theme was magic. All over the
machine there were pictures of magic things such as trunks and rabbits coming
out of hats. After inspecting the machine it seemed in very good condition
except for "One small wear spot to right of magic trunk." After
inspecting the machine for a little longer I went back to the kitchen to finish
making my breakfast. An hour later Dave woke up and I questioned him about the
machine. Dave said the last night he had purchased it after a night of drinking
and he admitted to not remembering most of the night. Dave said the man he
bought it from had said that it was "Used but in excellent
condition." After our conversation we shrugged it off and went on our own
way. Then about an hour later I was watching TV and suddenly the machine turned
on and started playing it eerie music. I walked over to the machine only to
find it wasn't even plugged in. Frightened I went to get Dave to show him but
by the time we got back to the living room it had turned off. This occurrence
repeated several times throughout the day and by the night time I was
practically crying of fear. That night was the most unrest full night of my life;
I couldn't sleep because I kept on hearing the music. The next morning I took
matters into my own hands and went online and wrote up a classified ad for it.
This brings me to where I am today, waiting and hoping that someone will come
and take the pinball machine away from me and take the curses as well.

T=Taco Salad
1/2 pound of Turkey -- cooked- Turkey like the food
we had on Thanksgiving at my grandparent's house. The turkey was always moist
and delicious and Eric was still there. I could still talk to him but only for
a little while because I would soon get sucked into playing with my cousins.
The best Thanksgivings.
1/2 cup of onions -- chopped- Making a salad for dinner with my mom. First she shows me how to cut the onions then she tells me that it’s my turn. I start to cut but I have to stop quickly because the onions are making me cry. My mom goes upstairs and gets me my sunglasses and we finish the salad.
1/2 cup of bell peppers -- chopped- Camping with my friend and on the second day a stomach bug breaks out. Everybody is going home and puking. I am not sick yet but I am starting to feel the sickness coming on. For dinner that night I have green peppers and onions on tortilla chips. Long story short I can't eat green peppers anymore.
1 jar of taco Sauce (8 oz.)- Making fresh salsa during the summer. We get the tomatoes from our garden and as a family we cut up the tomatoes adding them to the other foods the salsa is soon done. It's the best salsa and within a day it is gone and we have to make another batch already.
1 1/2 table spoon of unbleached flour- Making chocolate chip cookies with mom and the next ingredient is flour. My mom tells me to get the flour but as I get it I stumble and the flower falls on the ground. Instead of yelling at me, my mom comes over and throws some flower at me; soon we are having a full-fledged flour fight in the kitchen.
1 package taco seasoning mix- It Taco Tuesday at the Hill residence and only one more thing needs preparing, the beef. Up in my room I can smell the aroma of the taco seasoning mixing with beef and I know that dinner is almost ready I wrap up my homework and come downstairs to my favorite meal, tacos!
1 cup of cheddar cheese -- shredded- Everyday of 7th grade I had the same lunch, ham sandwich. I loved them and remarkably for the whole year I never got tired of them. Besides the ham there was two other ingredients, mustard and cheddar cheese. Now whenever I have cheddar cheese it brings me back to 7th grade.
1 cup of Monterey Jack Cheese -- Shredded- Fresh Palatine Monterrey Jack cheese from Gade farm. Every year this is a must have in the Hill family, we go through it at amazing speed. My dad and I are cheese fiends and we tear through the packages, having the cheese on everything from salads to trisect.
1/4 cup of tortilla chips -- crushed- My dad's favorite food. Every night before he goes to bed he has a handful of them and he has them regularly throughout the day as well. This has been his habit for many years and slowly I have become accustomed to hearing the crunch of the chips every night.

Famous Poem Starters
"But I have promises to keep, and miles to
go before I sleep." The words of Robert Frost echo in my head as I walk
along the dirt road leading into the desert. I have been walking for seven days
now with barely any breaks. I take just enough time every night to sleep for
six hours and then I am up and walking again. It has become fairly routine by
now and I don't have any problems waking at four in the morning anymore.
Undoubtedly by now people would be wondering where I have gone by now but if I
had told them they wouldn't have understood. In the words of Robert Frost
"I have promises to keep" and it is essential that I keep this
promise. For about a month before I set off on this excursion I could see them
watching me. I could tell that they were reaching their tipping point and if I
didn't go soon then they might take drastic measures. So I set off the keep the
promise that I made. I needed to keep my word because once you lose that you
lose all credibility in life. As I trek across the desert I keep on replaying
that fatal moment when I made that life altering promise. I feel so stupid for
doing that now and I rue that day with all my heart. But for now there is
nothing else that I can do. I have to follow through with this now and I have
to be a man of my word. And as I travel farther and farther into the desert I
slowly fall into the state of blankness and just keep on walking.

Nersury Rhymes ARE Relevent to Life
I've been workin' on the railroad,
I've been workin' on the railroad,
Don't you hear the whistle blowing?
Don't you hear the captain shouting
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o.
When I hear this nursery rhyme it reminds me of my life today. In the rhyme it is talking about working hard and getting up early to work. I could relate this nursery rhyme to school but I feel a more fitting thing to relate it to is my running. I have been seriously running for more than a year now but it feels like so much more time. I love running with all my heart and I cannot imagine my life without running but it is very hard work. In order to be good at running and be able to compete on our school teams at a high level you have to work very hard. This involves getting up early on the weekends for runs that you don't want to take at all or after a long day of school, after which all you want to do is sleep, you have to go to practice. Running can be very mentally taxing and extremely hard work both mentally and physically. Even though the running is hard work I still continue to do it because I love it and I cannot imagine my life without running and that is why I continue to work so hard at it.
