Famous Poem Starters
"But I have promises to keep, and miles to
go before I sleep." The words of Robert Frost echo in my head as I walk
along the dirt road leading into the desert. I have been walking for seven days
now with barely any breaks. I take just enough time every night to sleep for
six hours and then I am up and walking again. It has become fairly routine by
now and I don't have any problems waking at four in the morning anymore.
Undoubtedly by now people would be wondering where I have gone by now but if I
had told them they wouldn't have understood. In the words of Robert Frost
"I have promises to keep" and it is essential that I keep this
promise. For about a month before I set off on this excursion I could see them
watching me. I could tell that they were reaching their tipping point and if I
didn't go soon then they might take drastic measures. So I set off the keep the
promise that I made. I needed to keep my word because once you lose that you
lose all credibility in life. As I trek across the desert I keep on replaying
that fatal moment when I made that life altering promise. I feel so stupid for
doing that now and I rue that day with all my heart. But for now there is
nothing else that I can do. I have to follow through with this now and I have
to be a man of my word. And as I travel farther and farther into the desert I
slowly fall into the state of blankness and just keep on walking.
