T=Taco Salad

1/2 pound of Turkey -- cooked- Turkey like the food we had on Thanksgiving at my grandparent's house. The turkey was always moist and delicious and Eric was still there. I could still talk to him but only for a little while because I would soon get sucked into playing with my cousins. The best Thanksgivings.

1/2 cup of onions -- chopped- Making a salad for dinner with my mom. First she shows me how to cut the onions then she tells me that it’s my turn. I start to cut but I have to stop quickly because the onions are making me cry. My mom goes upstairs and gets me my sunglasses and we finish the salad.

1/2 cup of bell peppers -- chopped- Camping with my friend and on the second day a stomach bug breaks out. Everybody is going home and puking. I am not sick yet but I am starting to feel the sickness coming on. For dinner that night I have green peppers and onions on tortilla chips. Long story short I can't eat green peppers anymore.

1 jar of taco Sauce (8 oz.)- Making fresh salsa during the summer. We get the tomatoes from our garden and as a family we cut up the tomatoes adding them to the other foods the salsa is soon done. It's the best salsa and within a day it is gone and we have to make another batch already.

1 1/2 table spoon of unbleached flour- Making chocolate chip cookies with mom and the next ingredient is flour. My mom tells me to get the flour but as I get it I stumble and the flower falls on the ground. Instead of yelling at me, my mom comes over and throws some flower at me; soon we are having a full-fledged flour fight in the kitchen.

1 package taco seasoning mix- It Taco Tuesday at the Hill residence and only one more thing needs preparing, the beef. Up in my room I can smell the aroma of the taco seasoning mixing with beef and I know that dinner is almost ready I wrap up my homework and come downstairs to my favorite meal, tacos!

1 cup of cheddar cheese -- shredded- Everyday of 7th grade I had the same lunch, ham sandwich. I loved them and remarkably for the whole year I never got tired of them. Besides the ham there was two other ingredients, mustard and cheddar cheese. Now whenever I have cheddar cheese it brings me back to 7th grade.

1 cup of Monterey Jack Cheese -- Shredded- Fresh Palatine Monterrey Jack cheese from Gade farm. Every year this is a must have in the Hill family, we go through it at amazing speed. My dad and I are cheese fiends and we tear through the packages, having the cheese on everything from salads to trisect.

1/4 cup of tortilla chips -- crushed- My dad's favorite food. Every night before he goes to bed he has a handful of them and he has them regularly throughout the day as well. This has been his habit for many years and slowly I have become accustomed to hearing the crunch of the chips every night.
